Language Assistance
If English is not your first language, or if you need help communicating with us for any reason, tell us. We want you to understand everything about your child’s care.
Help is available
Interpreters and other language help are available to you at no cost. [Confirm with the office: which interpreter service is used, whether it covers phone and in-person visits, how much notice is needed, and what is available for families who are deaf or hard of hearing.]
To ask for help, call 910-313-2111 and say which language you speak. You can also tell the front desk when you arrive.
What this notice is
Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act requires health care practices to post a Notice of Availability — a short statement telling patients that language assistance services and auxiliary aids are available free of charge.
The notice must appear in English and in the 15 most common non-English languages spoken by people with limited English proficiency in the state where the practice operates. For a practice in North Carolina, that list is set by the state’s own language data.
